By using this application, service, or website (the “Application”), you agree to the policy below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application. This policy may change in the future, and the latest version will always be posted on this page.
Request Deletion
You may request deletion of your account by emailing puntolatinoapp+delete@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, mentioning that you wish to have your account deleted. We use the sending address to confirm the request is genuinely yours, so please send it from that address.
When we delete your account we remove your profile — your name, date of birth, member type, area, and email preferences — and your login. Two things are handled differently, and we want to be plain about why:
- Events you posted that we published stay on the site, since they are listings of public gatherings that other people rely on. We remove your organizer contact details from them and unlink them from you. Tell us in your email if you would also like the listings themselves taken down.
- Records of payments you made to feature an event are kept, without being linked to your account, because we are required to retain financial records.
Information We Collect
- If you create an account, we store your email address, your name, your date of birth, whether you signed up as an attendee or an organizer, the area you selected, and whether you opted in to marketing email. Accounts are handled by Supabase, our authentication and database provider.
- If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and your name. We do not receive your Google password. If you sign in with a password instead, your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash by Supabase and is never visible to us.
- If you submit an event, we collect the details of that event along with the organizer name, email address, and phone number you provide, and any image you upload. Organizer contact details are used to follow up about the submission and are not published.
- If you pay to feature an event, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a record of the transaction and the email address used; we never receive or store your card number.
- This Application uses Google Analytics for traffic statistics, such as how many people use the Application, what types of devices they use, and which pages are popular. Google Analytics does not tell us who you are. You can opt out across all sites using Google’s opt-out browser add-on, and control ads personalization through Google’s My Activity.
- This Application uses PostHog for product analytics — which features are used, and how people move through the site. Unlike the other two, if you are signed in we associate this data with your account identifier and email address so we can understand how signed-in people use the Application. When you sign out, that association is cleared.
- This Application uses Vercel Analytics for page-level traffic measurement. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
- These analytics services may collect data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and approximate location derived from IP address.
- We collect error information when something goes wrong, which may include your browser version and your account identifier if you are signed in.
- To place events on a map, we convert submitted addresses into coordinates using the OpenStreetMap Nominatim geocoding service. Map tiles are rendered in your browser.
- If you opt in to marketing email, we may send you occasional email about Latino events, promotions, and offers from partners. You may opt out at any time.
Information We Share
- We may share aggregate information, such as how many times an event or venue was viewed. Aggregate information does not identify you.
- Event details you submit are published on the Application once approved, and are available through our public events feed. Organizer email addresses and phone numbers are never included.
- We share information with the service providers who operate the Application on our behalf — currently Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Google, and PostHog — and as required by law.
- We do not sell your personal information.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Application, publish and moderate submitted events, process payments, respond to inquiries, and — where you have opted in — send you marketing email.
Your Choices
You can review and change your name, date of birth, member type, area, and marketing preferences at any time on your account page. Turning off the marketing setting there stops promotional email. You can request deletion of your account as described above.
Third Parties
The Application contains links to third party websites, including ticketing sites, venue websites, and social media profiles. By including these links we do not represent those parties or their content, products, or services. You are responsible for knowing when you are visiting a third party website and for knowing the terms and privacy policy of each such website.
Your California Rights
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email puntolatinoapp@gmail.com.
Age Requirement
You must be 18 or older to create an account. The Application is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the Application constitutes your agreement to the updated policy.
